Bangladesh JSPS Alumni Association (BJSPSAA) is an association of scholarly researchers and professionals of our society, who by dint of their outstanding achievements in research, have been awarded with post-doctoral Fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) or completed Ph D under the Ronpaku program of the JSPS. The JSPS, or Gakushin for short, is one of the most reputed institutions in the world, established by way of a national law for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science in all fields of the natural and social sciences and the humanities.

Every year, many researchers from Bangladesh are going to Japan under the JSPS Fellowship or Scientist Exchange Programs. After completing their research stay, most of them return to Bangladesh. These highly qualified researchers are valuable assets in advancing research in Bangladesh and also to maintain cultural tie between Bangladesh and Japan. In order to retain contact with Bangladeshi JSPS scientists and their host scientists in Japan, the BJSPSAA was established in 2009 with direct support and guidance from the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh and JSPS Head Office in Tokyo, Japan.

The BJSPSAA is now one of the most prestigious academic associations in the country, which organizes academic meeting and symposium on important topics of local and global interests. It is a platform of former JSPS fellows in Bangladesh to continue their research and academic activities in collaboration with scholars in Japan to change the society and face the new challenges through generation of new knowledge and technology. Any former JSPS fellow or Ronpaku fellow is welcome to become a member in this prestigious alumni association.

The aims of the BJSPSAA are to (i) promote scientific exchange, research and cultural collaboration between Bangladesh and Japan; and (ii) to encourage to establish collaborative networks between the JSPS alumni with Japanese scholars through organizing scientific meeting and symposia.

The Executive Committee of the BJSPSAA consists of the following office-bearers: President, 3 Vice-Presidents, General Secretary, Treasurer, 2 Joint Secretaries, Organizing Secretary, Research and Publication Secretary and 11 Members. The General Assembly elects the Executive Committee for a period of two years.
